Books Are Fun, the world's leading display marketer of books and gifts is seeking a full time PHP Developer. You will be working from our Louisville, CO office and be reporting to the VP of the Marketing. As a member of our online team, you will be challenged on a daily basis to solve problems and develop ideas into features for our E-commerce, portal, and CMS websites and applications.
Responsibilities:
Write code from technical specifications
Design, develop, and test scalable and secure web-based solutions
Integrate and enhance customer service, warehouse, shipping, and ERP systems
Design solutions and integrate with third-party systems including payment processing, shipping,
affiliate marketing, email marketing, and product feeds
Research, implement, update and customize modules and plug-ins
Troubleshoot issues and optimize performance with web server, database, security, network,
and web technologies
Implement mobile web applications
Track, analyze, document, and fix reported bugs
Establish staging environments for preflight and application upgrades
Communicate regularly with stakeholders
Create and maintain technical documentation
Practice quality standards through code reviews
Work closely with other departments to enhance our online experience and support business
growth
Technical Requirements:
Object Oriented PHP Application Development
MySQL, including Zend, MVC framework and EAV data structures
LAMP Development
Experience with XML, REST, SOAP web services
JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery and/or Prototype
Experience of managing and promoting effective use of version control
Experience developing, supporting and maintaining complex, scalable web applications
Expert understanding of XHTML and CSS3
CMS/E-commerce experience
Agile development
Skills and Qualities:
Interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
Self-starter with a strong work ethic & able to work independently as well as collaboratively
under critical time frames with maturity, dependability and a great attitude
Sense of humor
Desire to learn and innovateEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
